My request of those who honor me by reading my blog…

This blog is being used to find my own voice when writing. I know, from my own personal reading, a reader can tell when the writer’s heart is not in what they have written. I also believe heart goes a long way in making a piece appealing…even when form is lacking. This being the case, I ask for any imput and constructive criticism that is given to me on what I write. Only when kind souls do this, will I, or any other writer, be able to better his/her work. Despite the impression some of my writings may give, I am tough. I want to see my flaws in order to fix them. Writing is a way I show my feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and essence…last thing I want is a silly error to become the focus.  Please, be kind, leave a line or two of points I can work on if /when you find areas for improvement.  I can only become a better me if you do.

My thanks in advance!

  1. Hello. I saw your comment on OM’s site – no comments, no feedback. He does have very good posts on how to get a following. One thing I’ve discovered is that the more controversial or off-the-wall your statements are, the more likely you are to get comments.

If you figure out another way to get them, let me know!

    Nice blog, by the way!

  2. I’m glad you like it. 🙂 I did not know about OM’s site success when I started following him. I just honestly enjoyed what he writes. Honestly, the post you saw was just me venting my frustration about having people come and just like…and not commenting. The whole reason I started the blog was to establish a way to get feedback on what I write in order to better improve my writing. I click of the like, while nice, feels a lot like pity. I took his suggestion and read his advice but I found out nothing new that I already was not doing. I am known for commenting on what I read that I appreciate and when people were not coming to my blog for that…I went to theirs but not because I wanted to increase my stats. What happens….I’m fine with that. 🙂 Thanks for looking out for me and if I find any other ways I will let you know. 🙂

  3. I was also hoping to get more feedback. Mostly I get “likes” and “amen.”
I finally had to give the thing to Jesus and let Him do with it what He wants. Blogging is quite an adventure.

Didn’t mean to be so quick to “help.” Probably should have asked first. My first attempt at this blog went badly. I remember how disappointed I was – and quit after a couple of months. Didn’t want someone else to go through that. 🙂

I look forward to reading more of what you’ve written and will offer suggestions (fwiw!) – but only on essays. I’m lousy with poetry!

    • Your advice was very kind. 🙂 I have decided to just do like I would have done to me. I will continue to give feedback they way I do and write the way I do…and see what happens. In the end, even if I am left with only my poems I will be happy. God Bless!

  4. You and I are just the opposite: My pet peeve has to do with readers who won’t hit the like button. Because of my work schedule I don’t always have enough time to read the authors of the blog I’m following much less leaving and answering comments. 🙂

    • Goodness! I could have sworn I responded to this when I first saw it. 🙂 I do understand that lack of time to respond back to all the comments that come in can be a drain on time…which is precious when you also have to make time for work, family, friends, and you. 🙂 If it makes you feel better I will be ok if you just like a post of mine that you happen to see that you like…and I will always show my appreciation for your offerings by clicking on like. Best wishes!

  5. Billie, what a great blog you have, and your desire for thoughtful interaction with the reader is awesome. Thanks for visiting my blog, so that I could be introduced to yours.

    • I do love writing! Honestly, the response I have seen from people when I allowed my writing attempts to be seen has fueled my desire to write even more. 🙂 I hope you visit whenever you can and offer any feedback that you are moved to give. Best wishes!

Now it is your turn to speak...
