“Be back in just a minute” is what he said.

These words bounce all over in my head.

The bitch clock taunts, “Tic toc, tic toc.”

I stay strong; tears unshed.

Rage festers instead.

Tic toc, tic toc.

  1. Strong, harsh words really make this poem – coupled with them, even the onomatopoeia sounds hard and threatening. Loved loved loved the tic toc – really slowed it down and added a whole other layer of depth to the piece!!!

    • Thank you soooo much. You know, it feels good to know that negative feelings can be appreciated when you express them in poetry. Other wise, those feelings have no use but to make you feel bad.

  2. I find poetry the best way to vent all my emotions…especially when they are negative! It just feels good to get them out of my head!! This was powerful!
